Learner Outcomes:

The learner will become familiar with the Renaissance period of Art.

The learner will recognize the contributions of Leonardo da Vinci.

The learner will use the Internet as a reference source.

Time Frame: one 40-minute session

Materials: see technology tools

Technology Tools:

Leonardo da Vinci Power Point presentation

Large screen monitor or interactive whiteboard

Computers with Internet access

Teacher Notes:

Procedure:

  1. View and narrate the Leonardo da Vinci Power Point presentation.
  2. Discuss Leonardo da Vinci’s work and how it related to the High Renaissance period of Art.
  3. The students will use a computer with Internet access to explore the life of Leonardo da Vinci. Exploring Leonardo (http://www.mos.org/sln/Leonardo/LeoHomePage.html)
  4. The students will take an online quiz.

Modifications:

Determine specific needs of students having Individualized Education Plans.

Due to an inadequate number of computers, it may be necessary to divide students into groups of two or three.
