6 Steps To Successful Fundraising:

The following are important steps to follow in organizing and performing any fundraiser.

  1. Set a goal. Set a specific amount you want to raise.

  2. Set up a time period. A Start and A finish date.

  3. Set a Plan. Decide how will your raise the money.(phone-a-thon, car wash, product sales, golf tournament or combination of any, etc.)

  4. Get a Chairman(Someone dependable who agrees to the first three in the list. If they don't agree with the top three, then they are not the right person)Make sure this person is organized and acts as a manager

  5. Involve the community. ( Get as many people involved as you can who support your cause.) Have your chairman recruit them.

  6. Follow the Plan!

 

Events for fundraising:

The following is a list of events and activities you can do to raise money for your cause. They're are always events you can do to raise money. But it is always important to have the man power to perform such events.

Where can You find Manpower?(sometimes these different groups may just give you the money or supplies if you ask)

Other Teachers at your school

Parents of the kids at your school

Community organizations that would agree to your cause. (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Kiwanas Club, etc.)

Professional Organizations and Corporations that agree to your cause(Your local power company, gas company, local businesses, etc..)

Ask your PTO or PTA to help

What Kind of Events can I do?( if you would like details on planning any of these events e-mail us and we will send you detailed plans)

Have a car wash. (Requires little planning and low med or high manpower)

Put on a Golf Tournament. (Requires heavy planning and high man power)

Use a fundraising company and sell their Items. (Requires little planning and the children in your classroom as man power)

Do a bake sale. (Requires little to medium planning requires medium adult man power)

Do a school carnival. (Requires medium to high planning with high man power)

Sell raffle tickets. (Requires little planning, low man power)

Have a concession stand @ events. (Low to medium planning, low to medium man power)

Do a bike or walk-a-thon. (Medium planning, medium to high man power)

How can I increase my funds Raised?

Try to get a company to match your funds(Wal-mart and K-mart have great matching fund programs)

Write a Grant

Increase manpower( the more people working for a cause the better)
